Peterborough Apartments at Waterside Fletton Quays
This is my post about the new Peterborough apartments at Weston Homes’ Fletton Quays. If you can’t view the video click here.
Paris or Peterborough?
I recently had a rather nice time at a new waterside destination. Now ‘where was it?’ I hear you ask. Was it Paris? Was it Amsterdam?
I was actually in the cathedral city of Peterborough to nose around the new Weston Homes development, Fletton Quays.
It’s pitched as the ‘new Canary Wharf’ and I must say it’s looking pretty cool.
50 minutes from London
Around 50 minutes from London there’s a £120 million re-development taking place here the south bank of the River Nene. So hotels, offices, bars and even an urban beach is being created, giving life to a whole new community.
With the tree lined boulevard and the green spaces and the bars it’s going to feel so cosmopolitan.
There’s a rather impressive lobby to Fletton Quays, a mixture of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom apartments, from as little as £172,000.
So that means that with the ‘Help to Buy’ scheme you could purchase one with a deposit of under £9000.
They also have outstanding rental yields if you’re looking for an investment property.
London spec, Peterborough prices
Although these apartments are affordable, what really struck me was that although you’re paying Peterborough prices you’re actually getting the kind of high spec fixtures and fittings you’d expect from a London Pad.
For example, you have a really good size kitchen with a quartz stone worktop and integrated appliances. There are also designer units and an instant boiling water tap.
You have a very spacious living room area and the bedrooms are ample, more than ample in fact with fitted wardrobes.
There’s also some pretty impressive smart technology going on in the bathroom and kitchen with smart taps, showers and even a heated mirror!
Each apartment also benefits from a secure underground parking space.
I snuck out onto one of the balconies, and the view was to die for – of the river and the cathedral in the distance.
I’ll be honest, it really did feel like a Canary Wharf apartment – but without the price tag!
My feeling is that this is an area where prices will shoot up once it’s all finished so you need to get in early.
